Isla de Maya

Modeled after a traditional Mayan aqua village, Isla de Maya is located adjacent to our Mayan aquaculture farm on a beautiful shallow Caribbean lagoon in the Belizean cayes. Clients and families staying at Isla de Maya are offered a blend of customized therapeutic modalities combining ancient healing methods with modern holistic and allopathic procedures in a spectacular natural setting. Isla de Maya is codirected by Nancy Velardi, M.S., a skilled practitioner of Crystal and Stone Energy Therapy™ which involves the use of laser wand crystals and other crystals and rocks to facilitate energy flow and spiritual cleansing. Various other healers from a wide variety of modalities will also be available on a rotating basis to work with local shaman on specific health issues indicated by the clientele.

Sunset on the CarribeanTreatment options range from intensive five- to seven-day sessions to more extensive 10- to 14-day regimes (for those with more leisure time or requiring more in-depth therapy), during which a personalized curriculum specifically tailored to treat individual health issues is created by the client's designated healing team of practitioners (a team of professional healers including but not limited to indigenous healers from various world cultures, homeopaths, MDs, NDs, body workers, energy workers, chiropractors, nurses or nurse practitioners, physicians' assistants, social workers, nutritionists, medical intuitives, etc.). Clients receive customized information and recommendations for health and well-being, while utilizing the distinctively energizing environment of a tropical island to assist in the healing process.

Those who wish to work on specific health issues at Isla de Maya will be asked to complete a basic application indicating personal goals and objectives for healing. Customized combinations of allopathic and alternative healing modalities, along with traditional Mayan ethnobotanical formulas (custom-prepared and blessed by authentic Mayan shaman), will then be tailored to meet individual needs. Follow-up will be provided via phone, newsletters, mail or e-mail. Some group follow-up sessions may eventually be available in the U.S.

Isla de Maya is also available as a relaxing, healing retreat for families and small groups. Get together with your loved ones and choose your own adventure! Let us help you put together the best healing/therapeutic package for your family or group needs, while enjoying a wide variety of marine and tropical resort activities.
