These remedies have been acquired through years of research, journaling, and apprenticeships with local shaman and traditional healers of indigenous tribes from all over the globe, several of whom are integral participants in the Earth Medicine project. The remedies are marketed and the profits are used to help fund Earth Medicine's educational endeavors, as well as subsidizing each culture wishing to participate. This program contributes directly to each indigenous culture's economic balance; awakening and rejuvenating respect, honor and dignity within the community. The Mayan Formulas The Mayans are one of the oldest civilizations in the western world, with a philosophy of healing that includes the cleansing and balancing of the body, mind and spirit. Now, for the first time in history, Mayan shaman have agreed to share their secret remedies with modern cultures. The Mayans believe the efficacy of their ancient ethnobotanical remedies depends significantly upon the use of traditional ceremonial blessings while harvesting, drying and mixing the formulas. Unless the rituals are followed precisely, the shaman say it is quite possible that the remedies' effectiveness may be diminished, or might not work at all. Earth Medicine is committed to following the spiritual guidelines for each remedy exactly as they've been passed down by the tribes through the ages.
